WHAT IS THE CAPITOL HILL CLASSIC VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT?
CHC is a qualifier-style event for 740+ teams that want to be part of a big, qualifier-like event with great competition. CHC does not award “bids” to winners of divisions for qualification into other events. However, CHC results do assist a team in building up their competition profile for entry consideration into other national events.
WHO CAN PLAY IN CAPITOL HILL CLASSIC?
Any junior girls team that wants to participate and is registered with its appropriate USAV Member Organization.
WHICH UNIVERSITIES WILL ATTEND CAPITOL HILL CLASSIC?
While attendence may vary some from year to year, colleges are fairly consistent about which tournaments they attend each year. To see a list of colleges that attended in 2013, click here.
TEAM REGISTRATION FEES
All girl's divisions $700.
All play, all divisions will be at the Walter E. Washington D.C. Convention Center in downtown DC at 801 Mount Vernon Place N.W., Washington, D.C., 20001

In order to complete seeding of the event, all USA Volleyball-sanctioned competition results should be entered in AES by Tuesday, February 4.
WHERE TO REGISTER
All tournament team registration must be completed in AES. General registration begins November 21, 2013 at 10:00am EST.
Please note that teams must have registered and paid their entry fee before THS will be able to assist them with hotel accommodations. All teams participating in the tournament must make hotel reservations at a CHC approved hotel. To view information about our Stay and Play Policy, as well as details on how to reserve rooms click here.
All family, friends, and fans of all teams, players, and coaches must register as guests. Registered guests will receive either a One Day Registration for $10 per day or a Weekend Guest Registration wristband for $25. A One Day Registration is valid only for the day on which it is picked up.
REGISTRATION FOR PLAYERS AND COACHES
Player and coach registration is part of team check in. Wristbands will be distributed to teams at check in. Players and coaches will receive registration wristbands and will need to show their wristband to enter the hall.
Please check the Washington Convention Center information page for parking details.
NO COOLERS ALLOWED
NO COOLERS of any kind, of any size, or for any reason are permitted in the Washington Convention Center. Coolers left inside the building will be removed to the outside of the building. Coolers left outside the building are the sole responsibility of the owner, but may be confiscated if security deems them a hazard. Neither Capitol Hill Classic, Metro American VBC or the facility will assume any responsibility for coolers or providing a place for them.
NO LARGE BAGS, BALLOONS, CHAIRS OR OUTSIDE FOOD ALLOWED
No outside food can be brought into the Convention Center building, not even into the lobby. This is a Convention Center rule that we must enforce as a condition of our contract; it is not our rule. We understand people don't like this, and neither do we. We are bound by the terms of the contract and cannot negotiate this away. We apologize for any inconvenience it causes.
In this post-9/11 world, major facilities reserve the right to restrict any items being brought into the building that they consider to be a problem; this includes personal seating and other large containers. We do provide seating for spectators at each court.
Teams will be penalized if supporters hassle the security staff about these rules. Please abide by the rules and let the tournament be enjoyable for everyone.
We will have athletic trainers provided by Global Event Medicine. There will be a medical tent located near the tournament desks in each hall. There is no charge for the services they provide.
Competition begins at 9:00am on Saturday, February 15, 2014.
The event runs in waves. The morning wave begins at 9:00am; the afternoon wave begins at 3:30pm. We will post exact starting times for age groups later. All teams should be prepared to play at 9:00am on Day 1.
Final matches on most courts are scheduled for 3:00pm on Monday, February 17. BE AWARE, however, that many courts run late on the 3rd Day.
Playing times for 2nd and 3rd days will depend on how the team finishes the day before. DO NOT assume you play in the same wave on the second day as you did on first.
Teams may use one court for one hour on Friday, February 14th, between 6:00pm and 8:00pm, provided we are finished setting up all the courts. Teams MUST check in prior to using a court for practice. Court use is first come first served basis on unused courts. We reserved the right to deny practice time if circumstances dictate. All players and spectators must leave the halls by 8:00 pm.
There is no Coaches' meeting prior to the start of the tournament.
All tournament updates will be officially posted at check-in and at the Tournament Desk in the CCC.
Coaches are SOLELY responsible for knowing of any changes posted. Official postings rule if there is a discrepancy between them and any other printed or published material (including what any staff member may tell you).
A variety of vendors and sponsors will have booths at CHC. Hours of operation are, generally, from 8:00am to 6:00pm each day of the tournament. We will publish a list of exhibitors at a later time.
