More 2021 Event Information Coming Soon!

The first Capitol Hill Volleyball Classic was held over Presidents’ Day weekend at the Washington Convention Center (WCC) in February 2007. On that weekend, 144 teams registered and played on 18 courts in Hall C alongside the annual Washington Boat Show. The tournament consistently grew by 100 teams, year after year. In addition to hosting teams from all over the United States, The Classic has hosted teams from as far away as China, Holland, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

In 2020, the event accepted 968 teams and set up 122 courts in the WCC. The Capitol Hill Classic in Washington, DC is now the largest youth volleyball tournament in the world over Presidents’ Day weekend. Any juniors team that wants to participate and is registered with its appropriate USAV organization, can apply for acceptance. The Classic has truly been an unforgettable event in the most powerful city in the world!

Dates & Location

The 2021 Capitol Hill Volleyball Classic will be held on February 26-28th. All event matches will be played at the Georgia World Congress Center, 285 Andrew Young International Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30313

This one year move was made due to COVID-19 restrictions and mandatory quarantines for athletes coming from one of the 39 states currently on the Washington, D.C. watchlist. We have every intention on returning to Washington D.C. for the 2022 event. You can read the full letter on this decision from our Tournament Director here.

Registration Fee

Cost for entry into The Classic will remain the same as last year at $865 per team and registration opens on Monday, October 26th at 10am EST. All registration is done through Sportwrench.

Tournament Policies

As per Southern Region rules, The Classic allows boys to be added to a girls’ team roster (co-ed) and for boys' teams to play in the 12u club division only. Boys may participate in no more than two of the six legal positions on the court at any time, including a boy playing in the libero position.

As per Southern Region rules, players may serve from behind the end line or a shorter line whose back edge is to more than 9'10" from the back edge of the end line.  Within a single term of service, player(s) serving from the shorter line may serve up to three times successfully and if the term of service continues to a fourth service attempt, this serve and all subsequent attempts within that term of service must be from behind the end line. This shorter service line is ignored after each service for the remainder of the rally.

Per Southern Region rules, age waivered players will not be allowed to participate in the Capitol Hill Volleyball Classic.
